Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition

The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs organizes an annual international competition encouraging young chefs to demonstrate their culinary skills in a competitive environment with their peers.

Eligibility

Competitors must be under 27 years old as of September 1 in the competition year and work at member establishments. Candidates qualify through national competitions before advancing to international rounds.

Competition Format

Each chef receives an identical black box and has 30 minutes to design a three-course menu (appetizer, main course, dessert) for four people. Preparation time is limited to 3.5 hours. Courses are presented every 15 minutes to a jury divided into three groups of three judges.

Participation Requirements

  • Represent their country's national competition winner
  • Be directly employed by an active Maître or Chef member in good standing
  • Not have competed in regional competitions more than three times
  • Not have competed in national competitions more than twice
  • Never have competed in another international Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs competition

The first Jeunes Chefs competition occurred in Switzerland in 1977.
